Mary Selvig graduated from Augustana College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and 'The Harold Spitznagel Award for Achievement in Art'.
In 2001 she was awarded 'The McKnight Residency for the Ceramic Arts' at Northern Clay Center in Minneapolis,
Minnesota and in 2003 received the 'Mayor's Award for the Visual Arts' in Sioux Falls, SD. Her work is included in numerous private and corporate collections. She has consistently
participated in solo and group exhibitions throughout the region since beginning her artistic career in 1978.
Mary taught watercolor classes for adult education for several years and has been an active member of various
community organizations such as Northern Plains Tribal Arts and Shoto Teien Japanese Gardens.
As a professional picture framer since 1990, Mary takes pride in the conservation and presentation of art
and personal objects. In February 2009, she opened Mary Selvig Framing in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
